Research Interest

Dr. Mudassir Badamasi Specialises In Hydrobiology With A Focus On Phycology, Particularly In The Application Of microalgae For Environmental Remediation And Molecular Characterisation.  My Research Interests Include:

  1. Phycoremediation Of Wastewater: Investigating The Potential Of Selected Microalgae Species For removal Of Heavy Metals, Organic Pollutants, And Nutrients From Contaminated Water Sources.

  2. Microalgal Biotechnology: Exploring growth Optimisation, Biomass Productivity, And Bioactive Compounds Of Microalgae For Industrial And Environmental Applications.

  3. Chloroplast Genome Characterisation: Conducting complete Chloroplast Genome Sequencing And Phylogenetic Analysis Of Selected Microalgae Species To Understand Their Genetic Diversity And Evolutionary Relationships.

  4. Water Quality Monitoring And Ecological Assessment: Using algal Bioindicators For Evaluating Freshwater Ecosystems And Assessing Anthropogenic Impacts On Water Bodies.

  5. Bioprospecting Of Algal Species: Investigating The Potential Of Microalgae For biofuel Production, Pharmaceuticals, And Biofertilizers Through Metabolomic And Genomic Studies.
